GPX portable PDL805 DVD player with screen: I’m convinced Pros: I love this little machine that I never knew existed.Cons: Now I can’t live without it.The Bottom Line: I never knew how many uses these handy little units could provide. This is one cool little machine! It was given to me by my boss in lieu of a typical Christmas bonus. I now see how useful this player is. For example if we go to out of town to a hotel or even camping we can simply bring along our own DVD to watch plug in our GPX and there you have it! Snuggle up in bed and watch a movie together. So easy. Great for people who travel often or exercise (at home or in the gym) as well. You can take this GPX player anywhere. This unit fits into a suitcase easilyand is very light and compact. The carrying case is literally the size of a small purse. Everything you need is inside and it all zips closed so nothing falls out or gets lost. The unit itself is a square shape that you open with the push of a button. When it opens you have the screen on the upper side and the DVD player at the base. Pop the DVD in and you are good to go. This unit comes with an adaptor to plug into your car’s cigarette lighter for use in your car. I can see how families with children would really get a lot of use out of this kind of portable DVD player in the car. The GPX portable DVD player is for use with either widescreen display (with aspect ratio control) or you can choose to watch your DVD using standard format. Commercially-burned DVDs as well as home movies you have made yourself will play in this GPX as well as CDs and MP3-formatted discs. The GPX portable DVD player also comes with a remote control. The picture quality is much better than I expected it to be in fact I find it to be excellent. Yes it’s just an 8 inch screen but when you’re close to it anyway it’s perfect. I have used this GPX unit with and without headphones (that are included with it). The sound quality is perfectly fine with the headphones. The unit has two little speakers just below the screen. On the left side of the base are buttons for audio display subtitles fast forward and fast backward. The volume control button is also located here. On the right side of the base are the next previous stop play/pause and setup buttons. An on/off switch is at the side of the unit as are the coaxial S-Video Video/Audio Out and headphone jack. The Li-Poly Rechargeable battery Pack is located on the bottom of the unit. You can either keep the unit plugged into the wall as you watch your DVD or use the battery and recharge it when finished. I checked online and the price is just $189. For more product information please see the GPX website at: GPX.com (Lean & Mean count at just 498…whew.) ~thanks for reading~ ©gkm. .
