Roomba Review:

The Roomba is an ideal device for people with tile and wood flooring. Carpeting is a bigger challenge for the device. Tight weave carpets (i.e. Berber) should be acceptable, but to be safe purchase the unit from a source that accepts returns. In my case my house is mainly hardwoods with some tile and the Roomba works wonderfully. The device handles obstacles very well, but before you let the Roomba perform solo, stick around while it is cleaning to observe any areas that it can’t handle on its own. In my case I have to pickup two small throw rugs and setup the virtual wall (2 included with device) to prevent it from getting stuck in my sliding glass door tracks. The device automatically detects stairs to prevent falls.

This device comes with a docking station that charges the unit. The Roomba has the ability to detect the docking station and park itself when it is completed with its task. In my case it finds its dock about 10 percent of the time, but that my because of the docks location and the fact that it is located in the largest cleaning space in the house.
